Bi-dialectal and bilingual as Korean-Black american, Sarah Phillips has always known that language is a huge part of her identity and she was blown away when she found out that she could become a linguist! Sarah focuses on code switching in her research.

Code-switching means alternating languages during conversations. It has been widely studied in linguistics, psychology, and neuroscience; but the aim of Sarah's research is to integrate approaches from all three fields to develop a more holistic perspective on the bilingual mind.
