I’m back….with another Wealth Hack Wednesday!
So when I was a kid growing up I didn’t have the name brand shoes. No Nike, no Adidas. I had shoes from Payless or hand-me-downs from other boys that had outgrown them.
So when I got my first pair of Nike’s, some ‘Air Jordan’s’ back in 1986, I remember how excited I was to go to school and show them off.
That excitement lasted about a week. Once I got out playing in them and they got dirty and beat up, it just wasn’t that exciting anymore. I wasn’t as proud.
What I like about this story is that we can apply this to our ‘adult selves.’
We are always looking at things that people have. Their cars, homes, and vacations. We start to want these things. We start to obsess about them.
Then we start to measure our success based on these things that people have. It can get very dangerous when you start comparing yourself to others.
You start making bad decisions.
You don’t know where these other people are in their journey. You don’t know what they are trying to achieve.
You don’t know their story.
Chances are that your story and your goals are different.
Let your own success, your own results define who you are.
