Chris Bangle was the Chief of Design at BMW from 1992 to 2009, the first American to hold the title.
Chris graciously spoke to us for GOOD FORM! from his studio in Italy, lovingly named the Borgata.
We had a wonderful conversation focused on the unique relationships Chris Bangle Associates creates with clients. For instance, clients are seen as collaborators, and so “associates” in the firm’s name encompasses a wide array people.
We also explore design as an act of making an of constant questioning.

Ced Funches has worked as an art director for the NBA, started a skateboarding company at 19, and self published a childeren’s book with the simple goal of making his mom and others smile.
Ced currently runs Flippo+Interactive where he helps companies brand and position themselves in order to maximize their success. He does this by not only employing great design but by also delving into the metrics and stats of his designed actions.
In this way he is able to validate his work, and show clients real time results.
In this part two of our interview with Ced we go into the culture of design and the merits of respectful criticism.

Katie Crepeau is an architect living in London. She began her career as most architects do, but began to feel that something was missing in her work.
The search to fill this gap has lead Katie to meet a wide array of people searching for a way of practice which would allow them to foster a greater connection with communities as designers.
Katie has worked with Architecture for Humanity and Public Interest Design.
In addition to running her blog Design Affects, Katie was made editor at Public Interest Design.
Katie talks to us about how we can use metrics to measure the impact of our design projects. Designers now have ways of measuring our impact on complex environmental systems, and we are now looking at ways to measure our social impact.
