Good Game Great Game

Remember when we all took a nap during the Square-Enix conference when they showed some sort of WWII shooter that had the number "5" and "10" on the screen a lot. Man, that was a great nap. Anyway, some video games happened, and we had thoughts on them. Did you see that Avengers trailer? A lot of people are calling those character models the "actor's stunt doubles". I laughed at that joke! It was very fun.

Games Discussed: Like, a butt-ton. In particular: Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Avengers, Halo: Infinite, Fallout 76, Doom Eternal, Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sequel, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Marvel's Avengers (2020), Luigi's Mansion 3, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Forza Horizon 4

But, what the HECK is Nico's accent? Was she born that way? Is that something she learned from watching others? Does she think it's cool? Why is it all I think about now? I can't stop thinking about her accent. I want it to stop. I want it to be silent. I need it all to end. Can we go back to talking about Kingdom Hearts now?

Welcome! Come, take a sit by the dinky table, and watch what happens when the three of us are sitting Way Too Close To Each Other. We start to dive into our playthroughs of Devil May Cry 5, reveal ourselves for the weak boys that we truly are, and ponder endlessly over who is truly the hottest devil hunter around. Spoiler: V is no one's choice. We are all not about V. Honestly, he owes me $4.32, and I'm holding a grudge on it.

Other Games Discussed: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Angry Birds II, Tetris Effect, Lumines Remastered.

The 2018 NFL Draft is going haywire in Music City right now, so we chose to take the characters of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and create our dream football teams out of this mash-up of Gaming's Finest. Who drafted the proverbial Super Bowl Champions? Is raw strength enough to win football games? Could King K. Rool be a trusted blocker for a Running DK, or is that kind of chemistry the kind that poisons a team? Do you even need hands to catch a football? It's a heated argument as our three hosts talk about Sports on a Video Game Podcast again. Whoops.

This week, we discuss BioShock IN SPACE, What becomes SSBU's Kingmaker, our "Dream" Pokemon, and somehow manage to have a conversation about Sports for ten minutes, which I'm pretty sure breaks the Video Game Podcast Bylaws. So, allow us to make up for it here: DUH, DHUR, RUN THE BALL AND SPIKE IT TO STOP THE CLOCK OR SOMETHING, DER BER.

Can't believe Xehanort managed to Nort Misty. Truly, a plot twist none of us saw coming. I can only hope that our Partner Pokemon will be able to defeat her in the Dark World, and bring her back to the side of light. No, I'm not having Kingdom Hearts Withdrawal problems. I can stop thinking about Kingdom Hearts at any time.

If I ever see Tetsuya Nomura on the street, I will thank him for the wonderful world and beloved characters he has created, and the many hours of joy and happiness he has invited into my life, and then I will Punch Him Into The Sun. The question is finally asked: Is Kingdom Hearts III a Good Game... or a Great Game?

When we started recording this episode around 7 PM on a Monday Night, none of us looked at a clock again until it was well past 9. We have fallen into the abyss known as the ending to Kingdom Hearts III, and we will never be the same again. Come, despair with us. Understand that there is no understanding. There is no below. There is no bottom. We will never reach the end. We will never reach the end. We will never reach the end.
