Good Game Great Game

It's part two of our Kingdom Hearts III discussion. This time out: Did Monstropolis capture the magic of Monsters Inc.? Was Frozen ever actually that good? Why couldn't the entire game be the Pirates world? And are Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly just the same person moving between two spots very, very fast?

Your Good Great Gang is Zach Rich, Andrew Orsie and Kevin Ruiter.

The BioShock Marathon is complete! We say goodbye to the franchise with the two-part DLC for Infinite that was released between 2013 and 2014. Does Burial At Sea do a good job of wrapping up the series so far? Does the sudden turn to stealth gameplay pay off? Snowboard Kids 3 when? Prepare for an extended argument about which alternate version of a character is actually not an alternate version, but the version that we consider the prime one, I think, this whole thing gets way too confusing way too quickly. Also, the content you all come here for: an airing of the grievances over a 10-year old port of Banjo-Kazooie. Drink it up, fellow Goodbers.

The BioShock marathon is nearing its conclusion! The final full stop on our tour through the franchise is at BioShock Infinite - a game that dang well near blew our minds in 2013, and just might have done it again here in 2019. Check your Ludonarrative Dissonance at the door, False Shepherds, we don't need it where we're going. Plus, Zach discusses his love for Crackdown 3, no matter what anyone else says, and we talk about our favorite parts about last week's Nintendo Direct (read: you bet your bottom dollar we will be doing a lot of episodes on games from this direct.)

It's a wee-minisode on a tight little piece of DLC for BioShock 2! At release, reviewers said that Minerva's Den was better than anything the full BioShock 2 offered, and I gotta tell you, my sweet child, they were not wrong on that one.

The BioShock Marathon continues! The Gang have an entirely sober discussion about the awkward middle-child of the BioShock franchise, with all the shootin' and the gatherin' and the jazz music playin' all over the place. Kevin also shares his thoughts on Anthem's weekend demo, and we discuss the fallout from trying to play a drinking game at 28 and recording it for prosperity.

Other games discussed: Golf Story, Wargroove, Arabian Knights, Kingdom Hearts III, Anthem.

We made our "would you kindly" joke in the intro so that we could get it out of the way fast and move on with our lives. It's part one of our BioShock marathon - Zach and Kevin reexamining their love for the series, while Andrew gets his first taste of this buffet of Splicers, Daddies, and ADAM. We also talked about the weather, which isn't really important, but it was pretty cold in New York that night, and Andrew left Zach to freeze at his doorstep, which he is very much NOT resentful for, at all (you monster).

You might start this episode and quickly think to yourself "that's weird that they started the episode by not introducing themselves or their podcast and just kind of diving into the thing, huh?" This is just our brand new style of podcasting: Recording and Editing While You Are Very Sick. We're all sick in this one. We're all so sick. I don't remember what health felt like. Because of the sick. Also, we played Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and that King K. Rool sure is a heck of a thicc boy, huh? Is that how you spell it? I'm too sick to look it up and commit to the bit.

Also, next week, we're doing our first ever Mailbag episode! Please tweet your thoughts and questions about literally anything (games we played on the show, deeply personal questions, advice on how to tell your husband you're leaving them) @goodgreatgame and we'll answer them! Maybe!
