Good Hope Church's - Sermon Podcast

Pastor Celia Gauthier shares her inspiring testimony of freedom and healing. Before the loss of her premature child, she struggled with alcohol, searching for meaning and peace. But God, in His grace, delivered her from addiction, transforming her life. Even through the immense pain of losing her child, she found comfort and restoration in God's powerful love. Her story speaks of redemption and the hope that no matter where we’ve been, God’s grace is greater.

n Part 4 of the Good Hope Vision series, Pastor Daniel Stevens focuses on the importance of dreams, goals, and kingdom strategies. He emphasizes that while the mission from Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 12:28-31 remains constant, the strategies must evolve. Pastor Daniel encourages empowering believers to take action by giving them meaningful tasks, investing in ministries that resonate with them, and supporting multi-site ministries, like those at Good Hope Church. He underscores the need for collective efforts, drawing from Exodus 17:8-13, where Moses, Aaron, and Hur work together to help Joshua win the battle—showing that everyone plays a role in advancing God’s Kingdom.

Pastor Daniel challenges listeners to set both faith-based outcome goals (e.g., being a better father, helping others find Christ) and practical input goals (e.g., daily prayer, intentional acts of love). He likens this to abiding in Christ as seen in John 15:5, where small, consistent actions lead to fruitful outcomes. The key to growth, he argues, lies in receiving more of Christ and the Holy Spirit into our lives.

In Good Hope Vision: Part 3, Pastor Daniel emphasizes the importance of aligning our actions with God's call to "Reach Up, Rise Up, and Reach Out." His message highlights that a genuine relationship with God not only transforms us but also compels us to serve others. Drawing from the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, Pastor Daniel urges believers to actively engage in God's mission, using their unique time, talent, and treasure. He challenges us to avoid complacency or burnout by doing what God expects—working diligently for His Kingdom while staying faithful and wise. Pastor Daniel also encourages embracing our weaknesses, understanding that God uses even those for His purposes.

Ultimately, his message is a call to remove distractions, focus on what energizes us, and step boldly into the roles God has prepared for us. By doing this, we fulfill the vision of being apprentices of Jesus, living out our faith with intention and purpose.

In this second part of the Good Hope Vision series, Pastor Daniel Stevens emphasizes the transformative power of a real relationship with God, urging believers to "Rise Up." Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17, he explains that true faith should result in visible spiritual growth, much like how physical training leads to improvement. Just as a year at the gym without progress would be frustrating, a year walking with God without change makes no sense. Believers are called to be different, embodying Christ-like behavior daily, which not only improves their own lives but has the power to change the world.

Pastor Daniel shares three key points to help followers rise into the person God created them to be: (1) See God as a Father who lovingly disciplines, (2) Be intentional about spiritual growth, and (3) Learn from life's pains and challenges. With scriptures like Ephesians 4:22-24 and James 1:2-4, he encourages listeners to shed the old self and embrace their new identity in Christ. The message closes with a call to take off negative traits such as anger and fear and put on virtues like love, grace, and faith.

In Good Hope Vision Part 1, Pastor Daniel emphasizes the importance of vision within the church. He explains that vision means "pointing the way simply and effectively" so everyone can contribute. The core vision statement—Reach Up, Rise Up, Reach Out—defines Good Hope Church’s mission. Pastor Daniel shares his personal journey, recalling how he initially didn’t care about church traditions but was driven to help others know Christ for both eternity and this life. He challenges the church to avoid "dead or toxic religion" and instead build a real relationship with God.

In this first part, Pastor Daniel focuses on Reach Up, which emphasizes connecting with God through prayer, worship, and the Word. He warns of the dangers of being lost without God, both outside and inside the church. He highlights that through grace, everyone can build a real relationship with God, regardless of their past. The message closes with an invitation to open the door to a relationship with Jesus.

In this sermon, Pastor Mike Jurek delves into the story of Esther, highlighting the challenges she faced in the powerful kingdom of the Medes and Persians. Despite being a young Jewish woman in a precarious position, Esther rose to become queen and was pivotal in saving her people from annihilation. The sermon emphasizes how Esther, guided by wisdom and courage, exemplifies the "Spirit Led Life," making crucial decisions that aligned with God’s plan. Pastor Mike also contrasts the brutal reality of the Old Covenant, where justice often meant vengeance, with the New Covenant brought by Jesus, where forgiveness and grace prevail. He encourages us to embrace this spirit-led approach in their lives, allowing wisdom and the Holy Spirit to guide their actions toward love and forgiveness.
