THINGS TO REMEMBER FROM THE EP:
It’s Black Maternal Health Week. This annual campaign, led by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, aims to raise awareness about the disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black women in America. The disproportionately high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among Black women remain a critical concern, with Black women still 2-3 times to die during or shortly after childbirth. Please check on the pregnant women in your life and offer support where possible.
Ask your doctor to test your troponin levels at your next appointment. Knowing your risk could help you limit your chance of a heart attack or stroke.
Hear that sound? It’s your smoke detector battery. Beyond the stereotype that’s become prevalent on social media, it’s important to make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly. Lives depend on it. Change them today and set a reminder to change them at least once a year.
