To be an effective public servant, one must be dedicated. We were honored to be joined on today's show by the 59th Mayor of the 2nd largest city in Illinois, Mr. Richard C. Irvin. Elected in 2017, Mr. Irvin is the first African-American Mayor of our great city and recently won re-election. As we know, our city has suffered due to the pandemic. From the human toll to economics, how we arise as a city and a people is paramount. In this interview we speak on Mayor Irvin's early, formative years and his experiences as a prosecutor. It is with that background and a subsequent entry into local, community focused initiative we found enlightening. Tanks, finance, criminal justice, upward mobility, Saudi Arabia; this episode has it all. Additionally, we ask Mayor Irvin what the city can expect from his leadership going forward. Our city has changed for the better over many years. We appreciate all the work done by our city administration & fellow community partners.

Good morning to you all, once again #Jenettesplaining has returned! We got coffee, we got water & we're highly motivated. Today we speak about zoning and it's historical discriminatory practice. As we know, fairness and equity in housing is just one of many areas where America needs to do better. But what are the root causes? In addition, how is that reflected in the America of today. Our friend Jenette is here to chop it up so let's get into it! Enjoy this episode and have a great weekend!

You gotta have a tasty sauce; it’s a must have! That’s just one of the things we were able to learn from Mr. Christian Saenz, founder and owner of RKN TCO Food Supply Co. An Aurora native, Christian has seen his fair share of changes in our city and has been a part of a new wave of positive initiatives. Mr. Saenz got his start at Noodles & Company and as we can see, he’s come a long way! With experience in corporate and private restaurant management, what Christian brings to the table is his own unique style. In our conversation we spoke about life, business aspects of restaurant ownership and how he got started cooking. This Sunday RKN TCO is hosting another great food pop-up event at McCarty Mills. If you want good food, good sauce and to support a local business; look no further than RKN TCO Food Supply Co.!

Writing books and life in South Carolina; that’s just a few of the topics in this interview! Yesterday we were pleased to be joined by Mr. JL Callison, the author of “Stranded” & other works. Mr. Callison is a native of Quincy Illinois but has been an Aurora resident for over 20 years. He has continued to write and has since written two more books, including a tale for children! In our interview we talked about what Aurora was and what it is now, also his view on what may benefit the city in the future. Mr. Callison’s books can be purchased online, and each book purchased from his website comes autographed! Check out this interview and give his work a read on your next stormy day at home with tea!
