We all have a story to tell, what's yours? That's the question we were faced with today when speaking with Michele & Roderick Kelly. They are the awesome husband and wife team behind K+L Storytelling. Not only are they great at what they do, they're very inspiring as well. We spoke about creating, highlighting the success of others and love for family. While the story of the individual is important, so is the story of a business. Now, this is separate from a mission statement. And since life and entrepreneurship isn't all roses, a true story may include success and failures. But we, and no one else; we are responsible for writing our own story. What will yours be?

The Kane County resident, unfamiliar with the language of legislation (legalese) yet inundated with laws, is entitled to facts. Facts, good information and as much assistance as necessary in matters of public safety. With so much misinformation surrounding Police Reform Bill HB3653 we were honored to hear from law enforcement. Kane County State's Attorney Jamie Mosser & Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain joined us today for a great discussion. Collective bargaining, ending cash bail and future duties of officers were all on the table. If you want to know what law enforcement “thinks about this bill”, you should watch this. This video is in full, and the only edits made were adjustments in sound & lighting.
Good Morning Aurora appreciates the Kane County State’s Attorney & Sheriff’s office(s) for engaging with us again. We strive daily to be a vehicle for discussion and positive engagement for Aurora and all of Kane County. Shouts go out to Don’s Downtown Ink, Officer ‘Sully’ (APD), Deputy Brian (friend of the show), the Soto Family (APD) and all the good members of law enforcement. Shouts also go out to the 10 years of work done by the Illinois Congressional Black Caucus and all legislators involved in reform. Good Morning Aurora looks forward to highlighting all success that makes our community safe. Subscribe to the YouTube channel & stay tuned. Peace.
From water to public service, helping others doesn't stop for some people. Today we were glad to sit down with Mr. Ray Hull, current candidate for Aurora Alderman-At-Large. We really took a trip down memory lane with Aurora history on this episode. Ray carries a lot of experience in community relations and he also served on the East Aurora School Board. A native of Chicago, Ray's first job was at Carson Pierre Scott which is now the building housing Amy Morton's Stop Island Social & Artisan Lofts. We spoke about what makes Aurora great, life and faith as well. Mr. Hull has been a leader in Aurora for a long time and his experience was fascinating to hear. He's done just about every dirty job you can think of so he's no stranger to hard work. We wish Ray and the other candidates luck on their journey; this is a great way to learn about a true Aurora servant.
Shouts go out all Aurora artists and authors. Stay tuned for the Art & Market Aurora taking place this weekend. Virtual Daca workshops are being offered by the Southwest Suburban Immigrant Project.
