This is not a normal episode.
If someone ever messages you and says, “I need 8 minutes,” take it seriously. That message is a signal. It means they’re not okay, and they need a human connection right now.
This episode is a reminder of two simple truths:
You matter. And help exists.
If you’re in a place where giving up feels close, please pause. Reach out to someone you trust. Ask for those 8 minutes. You don’t need the right words. You just need to let someone know you’re not okay.
And please seek professional help. Look up the emergency mental health number for your country and talk to a trained professional as soon as you can. That step matters.
If someone reaches out to you asking for time, you don’t need to fix them. You don’t need solutions. You just need to be there, remind them they’re not alone, and encourage them to get immediate help.
Hard days pass. Even the ones that don’t feel survivable in the moment. Life is worth living, even when it doesn’t feel like it right now.
If you need help, please reach out. If someone asks you for 8 minutes, please give it.
