The one main point of this passage is, "Judgment is coming!"
What message did Jesus say we should take away from natural disasters and other tragedies? (See Luke 13:1-5)
What are some of the ways in which the number 7 is used throughout the book of Revelation?
In what way do the 7 trumpets differ from the 7 seals?
What did the trumpets point to as Israel marched around the city of Jericho?
There are 2 things we want consider regarding the first 4 trumpets:
(1) The parallel between this and the plagues God sent upon Egypt.
*What is the connection between the plagues and:
(a) the first trumpet?
(b) the second and third trumpets?
(c) the fourth trumpet?
How should this parallel strengthen and encourage you?
(2) The warning not to find our security in the things of this world.
What are the mountains often symbolic of in the Old Testament? What does this teach us about our ultimate hope?

What was often the purpose of trumpets in the Old Testament?
How do verses 3 & 4 relate to the Old Testament tabernacle?
What does the Bible teach us about the intercessory work of Jesus? (Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2, Hebrews 7:25)
How does this passage encourage you in your prayers?
What does verse 5 tell us about how God responds to our prayers?
3 Point of Application:

(1) The Individual application - keep praying, don't give up!
(2) The Theological application - Our prayers are included in the sovereign will of God. God has decreed the means by which His will is done.
(3) The Sacramental application - God is our father , we have fellowship and communion with Him, He feeds us with the Lord's Supper.
