Following Jesus means that sometimes we bear the most fruit in the most unexpected places. Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well. Through this seemingly unexpected encounter, an entire community comes to faith in Christ. 

Have you been born again? It is a question Lutherans don't often ask, yet Luther reminds us that we are ALL born again in our baptism. With each new day, we die in Christ and rise with him to walk in newness of life! Are we born again? Yes, today and every day. 

Who do you think you are? Immediately on the heels of his baptism, where Jesus hears the voice of his father declare his identity with unquestionable clarity, the temptation comes. That voice that we all here, calling into question our belovedness. How does Jesus respond? How do we respond?  

Change is inevitable. Sometimes change can be overwhelming and we fall down in fear. God always has a word for us. Jesus reaches out, touches us, and says to get up for he is with us whatever may come.
