September 20, 2021Manjari Makijany on Directing & Writing a Netflix Top 10Manjari Makijany (@manjarimakijany) is a directorial powerhouse, earned her stripes working on projects such as Wonder Woman and The Dark Knight Rises. She also took part in the famous AFI, Universal & Fox Lab Intensives. Since, she has gone on to direct her own highly successful film, Skatergirl, which hit the Netflix Top 10 during Lockdown. Her new film, Disney’s SPIN starring Avantika Vandanap is Disney’s first original TV movie with an Indian American lead centred on Indian culture. For filming SkaterGirl, they built a SkatePark mid monsoon season in Rajasthan, which still survives today and now provides health, hygiene & language classes as well as continuing the skating passions of Rajasthan youth.
