Batman get weird in Morrison's run

Greetings adventurers, and welcome to this weeks installment of The Surly Nerd! After gaming and comic filled prelude we jump into comics, we mourn the passing of Alan Kupperberg the way only we can. Also in comic news we discuss upcoming titles Rowans Ruin, Batman: Black and White and Archangel by William Gibson. Our comic topic for the week is about Jesse Eisenberg's comments about Comic-Con and a question about how we judge celebrities.

In game industry news, we talk a little about the EVO Fighting tournament from this last weekend and the closing of the Playstation Mobile Store. When one door closes in the video game world, another opens and EA and Comcast are doing just that by opening up their own video game streaming service which we might be a little skeptical of. We close out level two with Aliens: Colonial Marines and how we believe no one sets out to make a bad game.

Over in the world of entertainment, we hear from Grant Morrison again as he tells us what he thinks of the new film version of Wonder Woman. Sigourney Weaver tells the world what she thinks of Aliens Vs. Predator, Guillermo del Toro tells all about the Justice League Dark movie and what it would take to make Hellboy 3. James kicks on the anger machine as the main topic for entertainment this week is all about how we pre-judge movies based on early photos.

In game industry news, X-com is coming to Vita, Sony opens up about Playstation NOW, we talk a lot about the remake of Gears of War at length and close out level two with a big talk about Halo 5 and the future of digital distribution.

Over in the world of entertainment, we jump into Warcraft news, get balls deep in talks over the new Batman and Star Wars announcements with our main discussion being movies and the future of film and the way it is distributed.

After our Secret Wars prelude we jump into comics, where DC has launched a new "for-kids" series of websites and Mad Max is getting a prequel comic we are super excited for. Some news has starting coming out about Chip Zdarsky's JUGHEAD comic, Alejandro Jodorowsky's new space opera title and our main topic in comics is about the botched women in comics panel at Denver's comic con.

In game industry news, Sony reveals its full plans for the rest of 2015 and James has issues talking about the new Darksiders game. The former Irrational Games crew are getting ready to launch a new horror game that has Tony super excited, and we go into what the Oculus is going to be offering come E3. Our final discussion in games is about game remakes and re-releases and why they are both awesome and horrible at the same time.

Over in the world of entertainment, there are a lot of issues with the upcoming BBC docu-drama about Rockstar games and there's a ton of new news about the Twin Peaks season 3. We also go into the new Conan the Barbarian movie, what to expect on the Mad Max blu-ray, what is new in the world of Transformers and the remake of Stephen Kings "IT" and a heavy discussion about the information age when it comes to documenting film and game creation.

Next we tackle why Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are no longer mutants, followed by news on what's going to happen to the Fantastic Four post Secret Wars as well as a talk about why Secret Wars can be both good and bad for the Marvel U.

In game industry news, John Riccitello has come out against Microsoft, prompting the entirety of the internet to roll their eyes at the former EA-CEO. We bid our last farewell to P.T and our hopes and dreams for Silent Hills, while Oculus enters negotiations with Sony and Microsoft to have the Rift put on their consoles. More news hits the world of Lego video games, with the announcement of the LEGO Dimensions series and Sony decides to pull back from Gamescom this year in a surprise move to everyone.

Over in the world of entertainment, rumors are abound that HULU is trying to create a TV series based on the hugely successful MYST franchise, Marvel's Infinity War is announced to be the first feature film shot entirely in IMAX and MACHINIMA kicks up their own TV lineup with a series of shorts based around ROBOCOP, DC Comics, SLENDERMAN and more! Fox has confirmed that both LUCIFER and MINORITY REPORT will be headed to TV this fall, while the #saveconstantine campaign is in full force. In the midst of this, ABC is cancelling the S.H.I.E.L.D spin-off and Jesse Eisenberg tells us that he knows nothing about comics at all.
