This podcast gives a bird’s eye view of the book “The Journey into Oneself” published by Collective Ink (John Hunt Publishing UK/USA) November 2024. In this presentation, the talking points about the book come up in the form of a slideshow accompanied by explanations. The book brings up pensive pointers for reflection and self-awareness.
We are all on a sacred journey of life. Appreciation of its beauty becomes a natural consequence to the inner dive towards leading a life of harmony. People rarely understand that chasing happiness is not as important as discovering what it is to have a peaceful mind. When they do, happiness follows of its own accord! This book explores the spiritual journey of self-awareness – a journey into oneself – that lays bare the root cause of all mental disturbances. In other words, it would function as a wayside companion to help the reader progressively move towards inner harmony.
Human beings are externalized – hooked on to the outer aspects of life such as material possessions, fame and identification with a religion, nation and the like. This is creating a lot of unhappiness to the individual and, therefore, to humanity as a whole. Those who realize this begin to turn inward and step out of the rut into which human beings have fallen. The above book would function as a catalyst to such people interested in individual and collective harmony.
The book does not give Dos and Don’ts or some methods for the reader to practice because such approaches would put additional burden on the aspirant. Here, as one goes through the lines of the pages, a strange non-verbal understanding of life, mind and death would take place in the reader. Subsequent reflections on those insights can expand one’s awareness and bring about inner peace, helping the aspirant meet life with equanimity.
Exposure to some paranormal phenomena is given in this book to take the reader out of the conventional mindset. Messages from those who go through such out-of-the way experiences can transform our lives towards streamlined harmony. It is a pity that, currently, most people in the world are not looking in that direction.
While presenting issues for serious reflection, this book puts forth a rather uncommon pointer that light-hearted attitudes and nonchalance too play a healthy role in the inward journey. The reader may enjoy, such legendary figures as Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan performing their little dances in this presentation.
The following two people (who insightfully read the subject matter of the book) say something about how the contents helped them in terms of the inward journey:
Ms Nandhini V M (Chennai, India)
I am a 25-year-old from Chennai. I had the LUCK to read your wonderful book just 6 months ago. I really wanted to thank you for writing that book as it changed my whole life, of course, not yet but it certainly changed my attitude towards life and has made me into a happy person. It’s a remarkable book. I've never read anything like that! I gave it to my dear friend and it helped her too. Hadn't I read your book at that critical point I would have probably gone mad or something more terrible could have happened. Thanks a million.
Mr Jim Peters (New York, USA)
I have just finished reading your book, for the second time. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your thoughts and understanding with others. I found it to be a deeply inspiring meditation on the Esoteric Field - to use your term. I think it is rare to see a discussion of the Near Death Experience in Vedantic discussions. I found this aspect of your book most original and informative.
