Not everyone who has COVID-19 recovers quickly. People who experience continuing or new symptoms after initial COVID-19 infection (such as fatigue, difficulty breathing, joint pain, and memory issues) are recognized as having ‘Long COVID.' Long COVID has been reported by between 30-75 per cent of recovering COVID-19 patients, but not much is known about the condition. Scientists at VIDO are hoping to change that. The team developed a mobile/web app to learn more about people’s experiences in order to gather evidence on the impact of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan to help guide the establishment of provincial health care support and treatment for those with Long COVID. Dr. Alyson Kelvin with VIDO joins Gormley to tell us more about the project and how those suffering Long COVID can get involved.

When he announced the end of COVID-19 restrictions in Saskatchewan Tuesday, Premier Scott Moe emphasized the need for healing and forgiveness as we work to repair the divides caused by the pandemic. Many friendships and close relationships were damaged during disagreements over vaccines, restrictions, misinformation, and more, there is a lot of work to do and it can be difficult to know where to start. Clinical psychologist Dr. Katy Kamkar joins Gormley to share her advice on overcoming the psychological hurdles we'll face on the road back to unity.

When you're a young kid, one way you can make money in the winter (whether it be in a small town or the city) is becoming a referee for minor hockey. But what happens when other coaches and parents take the fun out of it by belittling you, harassing you, calling you names, and criticizing all of your calls? Abuse against refs has been going on for decades, but Kelly McClintock with Hockey Saskatchewan says it's gotten worse during the COVID pandemic, as people are more angry. McClintock joins Gormley to discuss what he's been hearing at from the hockey community.

An exercise physiologist and University of Regina kinesiology professor, Dr. Patrick Neary is studying the effects of cannabis on concussions and he's getting a big boost in funding from the NFL. The NFL is putting up $537,000 USD (about $685,000 CAD) for Neary's three-year research project that will look into how medical cannabis could be used to treat concussions. Dr. Neary joins Gormley to tell us more about the research.

When Kevin Weedmark was in Afghanistan he put his life in the hands of his interpreter Qasem Sediqi. After the fall of Afghanistan last summer, Weedmark worked tirelessly to help Sediqi and his family escape the country, as the Taliban wreaked vengeance upon all those who had helped Canada and our allies, including interpreters and their loved ones. After a huge effort, Sediqi and his family have now arrived in Canada to start their new life under the Special Measures for Afghan Interpreters. Sediqi and Weedmark join Gormley to tell us about the happy ending to a story we've been following for months.
