Brian Peckford, who served as premier of Newfoundland and Labrador between 1979 and 1989, and is the last surviving signatory of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms, is now leading a lawsuit seeking to strike down the federal government’s mandatory Covid-19 vaccine requirements for air travel. Peckford says “The government has not shown that the policy makes flying safer—it simply discriminates,” and he joins Gormley to tell us more about the lawsuit and why he's involved.

The Freedom Convoy 2022 rolled into Ottawa over the weekend and truckers taking part say they'll wait until they're heard. Many of the protestors are staying in the nation's capital until COVID-19 restrictions ease. Saskatchewan organizer Chris Barber joins Gormley from Ottawa with an update.

A Saskatchewan researcher has become the first Canadian to receive an honorary fellowship from the UK's Royal Astronomical Society. Dr. Katharyn McWilliams, a professor in physics and engineering physics at the University of Saskatchewan, is the director of SuperDARN Canada, a network of scientists in 10 countries who use radar to study the upper atmosphere. McWilliams says her work might lead to a "forecast" for the aurora borealis, similar to a weather forecast, and she joins Gormley to tell us more about her work and the honorary fellowship.

National Post columnist Tristin Hopper has written about the two very different opinions people may have on what the Freedom Convoy accomplished, all depending on if they were convoy supporters, or not. Hopper says the Freedom Convoy was either an awe-inspiring scene of peaceful unity, or a shambolic national embarrassment. He joins Gormley now to tell us more.

According to a new survey from Angus Reid, a majority of Canadians say it's time to end all COVID-19 restrictions and let Canadians manage their own level of risk. The percentage for that belief was highest in Saskatchewan, with 62 per cent of people surveyed saying it's time to let the restrictions go. Premier Moe took to Twitter over the weekend and said the proof of vaccination policy would end in Saskatchewan in 'the not-too-distant future'. Is now the time to end the restrictions in Saskatchewan?
