In 2016, after leaving her role as a social worker due to a PTSD diagnosis, Jennifer Chouinard advocated for presumptive coverage for people with post-traumatic stress disorder in Saskatchewan. When the changes were introduced in 2016, the government directly credited Chouinard's injury and advocacy for helping make the bill (Bill No. 39 — The Workers’ Compensation Amendment Act, 2016) possible. Unfortunately, Chouinard says she's still struggling to get compensation, and she says the workers compensation board isn't following their own rules when it comes to presumptive coverage. Chouinard says she's still fighting for coverage, and the WCB is planning to release over 120 pages of her health records to her former employer in order to let them form a rebuttal, rather than simply sharing her medical diagnosis. Chouinard says she's deeply disappointed that the legislation she helped advocate for is not living up to its intended purpose, and she joins Gormley to tell us more.
Last week John confessed his love for the TV series 'Ozark,' even though he went into it thinking it would be just a bad rip-off of 'Breaking Bad.' John said he couldn't have been more wrong about the show, and now he's absolutely addicted to the exploits of Marty Byrde and his ties to money laundering for the mob. That's got us thinking: what's the show you didn't expect to love? Call 1-877-332-8255 and tell us yours!
