Two-time PPC candidate Mark Friesen, a Saskatoon resident and vocal critic of public health measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, has returned to Saskatchewan after being transferred to Ontario along with other ICU patients as Saskatchewan's hospitals found themselves overwhelmed with COVID patients during the fall. Friesen says he was ill with necrotizing pneumonia and will "continue the fight for our freedoms" despite his close call in hospital, and he joins Gormley to tell us more.

According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the Trudeau government and its ministers are badly out of touch with Canada's financial realities. Director Franco Terrazzano says Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland's mandate letter doesn't mention debt or the deficit, and with Canada borrowing a half-billion dollars daily, he's wondering if anyone in Ottawa is even thinking about Canada's $1-trillion deficit. Writing in the Financial Post, Terrazzano says " Canadian governments have created the perfect storm for rising prices," and he joins Gormley to explain why the government's apparent lack of concern should be concerning for all Canadians.

Yesterday, Premier Scott Moe announced the expansion of booster shot eligibility in Saskatchewan, allowing everyone over 18 to get their booster starting Dec. 20, as long as it's been three months since their last vaccine dose. Moe also encouraged the public to pick up and use rapid test kits becoming available across the province. However, despite concerns about the new Omicron variant, Moe declined to implement new public restrictions over the holiday season. Premier Moe joins Gormley to tell us more.
