The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan is highlighting some of the issues with telecom service in rural Saskatchewan. In their survey, 75% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction with current service levels, while just 18% said they were satisfied. Satisfaction was slightly higher for mobile service, but 63% still said they weren't satisfied. APAS President Todd Lewis says connectivity can potentially mean the difference between life and death should an accident occur in a rural area, and he joins Gormley to discuss the issues and what improvements he'd like to see. The U of S is establishing itself as Canada's first state-of-the-art road safety research hub, including a new facility featuring high-tech car and truck simulators to allow for improved research and rehabilitation for high-risk drivers. Dr. Alexander Crizzle is leading the research, and he says their unique truck simulator, which replicates everything in a real vehicle, will be used to study the effects of fatigue and cannabis on drivers and a lot more.

Distance and disinfection will be the keys to safely resuming school in the fall according to Education Minister Gordon Wyant. Wyant unveiled the guidelines for schools to keep K-12 students safe from COVID-19 Thursday and, while masks and PPE are optional, the guidelines stressed social distancing and staggering times as much as possible to prevent large gatherings of students. Wyant joins Gormley to discuss the balance between minimizing the risk to students and keeping school as normal as possible under the circumstances.
