The developer of a new app is working to connect Saskatchewan businesses and community members to help support local services. James Ashton developed the MyShire app, which lets local businesses advertise their services, residents post buy/sell requests, and news for each community. The app is available on IOS and Google, and Ashton joins Gormley to tell him more.

Regina-Lewvan MP Warren Steinley is working to help Saskatchewan students safely celebrate their graduations. Steinley says he's received lots of calls from concerned parents of 2020 graduates, and he would like to see a ceremony hosted at Mosaic Stadium to allow for physical distancing while still letting graduates walk across the stage. Steinley says staff at Mosaic are all in favour of the idea, and he's currently working with the provincial government to get the go-ahead. Steinley joins Gormley to discuss his proposal and the importance of marking graduation.

Saskatoon Police Chief Troy Cooper joins Gormley for his monthly interview on crime and enforcement in the Bridge City, including concerns around COVID-19 and the large rallies we've seen following the death of George Floyd.

The Hour of the Big Stories… Open Session

Today's the big day! Phase 3 of Re-Open Saskatchewan takes effect, meaning we'll be able to head out to bars, restaurants, churches, daycares, and gyms (with extra precautions in place). Jim Bence, head of the Saskatchewan Hotel and Hospitality Association, says he expects about 50-70% of bars and restaurants will be opening, but others are waiting to gauge demand or struggling under financial pressures. Bence joins Gormley to discuss the re-opening of restaurants in Saskatchewan.

It's Mining Week in Saskatchewan, and despite COVID-19 the provincial government says our mining sector is well-positioned to emerge as a leader in Saskatchewan's economic recovery. Energy and Resources Minister Bronwyn Eyre joins Gormley to discuss mining and how the industry could help our economy rebound.
