Senators are calling for changes to Bill C-18, the online news act, to prevent the CRTC from spying on newsrooms. This would also require companies like Google and Meta to compensate news organizations, which could affect Canadian access to the news if those companies don't follow the rules. Peter Menzies, Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and former vice-chair of the CRTC. He joins Gormley to explain the impact of the Bill if it goes unchecked.
