This week Adam connects some of the language we have been hearing over the past few weeks and ties together where Gospel Fruit comes from and how it will continue to grow in our lives.

This week on the podcast we had a class discussion about some of the things we are tracking through during this series and how the Spirit is bringing to light areas of our hearts that need repentance.

Focus Passage: John 15:1-11

Our desire for Jesus should lead us to keep His commandments, allowing us to abide in His love. Our desire for obedience should be greater than our desire for sin. This won’t always be true, because our flesh and spirit are in a constant battle (romans 7, Psalm 73:26, Phil. 3:3, Gal. 5:17), but abide means to continue. So if we stumble and fall into sin, God’s desire for us to is come back to him & continue in Him. Your sin does not define you, your fruit defines you. Your failures don’t define you, your obedience to Christ defines you.

Focus Verse:

Jesus promises His disciples that a Helper would come to them and that they would be able to 'see' Him, but the rest of the world cannot see Him. He also gives some insight into what role the Holy Spirit will place in the lives of the disciples since Jesus has said that He is going away and the disciples cannot follow Him to where He is going.

Passage: John 14: 1-14

Main Idea: Jesus calls us to trust him rather than freak out.

Last podcast we looked at the triumphant entry Jesus made during the Passover. In this episode, Chris looks at Jesus' last words to the large crowds that gathered in Jerusalem. In his final address to the masses, Jesus references the hardening of the people's hearts as in the days of Isaiah and calls people to believe in Him for eternal life.
