Got Our Attention episodes

  • Got Our Attention – S2E49 – Parlez-vous francais? Nope.

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Brian tells us about the gaming related English words and phrases the French aren’t allowed to use while Kelly “translates” them into French. Turns out she’s better at correcting Mike’s pronunciations than speaking French (who knew?), but at least we got a cool history lesson out of it!

Also, we discuss what we liked aaaaand didn’t like about the Sony State of Play. And Mike confuses everyone with his incredibly awkward send of (seriously, WTF was that?).

    What We’ve Been Playing

    • Settlement Survival
    • The Day We Fought Space
    • Save Room

    • Got Our Attention — S2E48 — Games and NFTs?

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Mike takes a deep dive into the subject we love to hate: NFTs in games. That’s right, we can’t stop talking about them, but at least this time we educate you on this block chain B.S. Exactly what can we say about NFTs that we haven’t already discussed in other podcasts? I’m so glad you asked! It’s this stuff:

      • What the #&%@ an NFT is.
      • Which gaming companies are doubling downon them.
      • Which creators are steering clear of them.
      • The connection between NFTs and the Metaverse.
      • Who is wasting and losing money on them.
      • And, how they are helping to delete the planet.

        • Also, Bruno tells us about everything that’s wrong with the new league of Path of Exile, which is apparently A LOT. In his words, “It was not a good release.” You won’t believe how many times he died in this league, but you’ll have to listen to find out.

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Bruno travels back to Outriders to meet the WorldSlayer! Brian and Kelly talk about Studios commenting on Roe vs Wade and how some want to silence them. Mike wants to tell us about the most wishlisted Steam game ever, that the rest of us have not heard of!

In Kelly’s Korner, we learn about Friday the 13th, the day, not the movie. Well ok, the movie is discussed too, because you know.... Kelly!

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Mike and Brian give us a recap of their PAX East 2022 shenanigans making Kelly and Bruno super jelly. Brian does a live taste test of ‘Space’.

In Kelly’s Korner, we learn about a bride who allegedly doses her entire wedding reception over a month ahead of 4/20.

On this episode of Got Our Attention, we deviate from our usual podcast structure so that Mike and Brian can report live from the PAX East 2022 convention! Well, technically they reported from the bar at the hotel near the convention, but close enough. They fill us in on folks they’ve met (including the Skyrim Grandma!!!), swag they got (we love you Able Gamers!), and games they played.

Also, we’ve started a fundraiser to help aid those in Ukraine. All proceeds go directly to Project HOPE - #HOPEforUkraine. To donate, go to https://tiltify.com/@sassgaming/help-ukraine

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Bruno teaches us his strategy for how to get a Sugar Momma, Mike and Brian discuss their plans for being at PAX East next week, and Kelly conspires with Bruno to take over the podcast. We also find out Mike’s newest tactic to take over other ships in Sea of Thieves using just the tip of his ship (read that however you’d like).

In Kelly’s Korner, we learn that Scrat the saber-toothed squirrel finally gets his nut and there’s a new game for Nintendo switch that you can play one-handed (yes, it means what you think it does).

On this episode of Got Our Attention, we talk about a hodge-podge of stuff including shanking, but mostly about Mike’s amazing “…and we’re back” t-shirt. If you’d like to purchase your own, let us know and we’ll get some up for sale on sassgaming.com.

In Kelly’s Korner, we learn about how a company called Sky Elements Drone Shows Rick rolled Dallas, Texas, and that Fortnite allegedly stole a choreographer’s very distinct dance moves for one of their new emotes. Side Note: If you sent Kelly a Snoop on the Stoop, email us at [email protected]so we can solve the mystery!

                        • Activision Blizzard will be doing something good for their contract and temp employees (for a change).
                        • The person who bought a $100,000 car NFT can’t drive it anymore. More evidence that NFTs are stupid.

                        • There’s gonna be a new Monkey Islandgame this year!!!

                            • Got Our Attention – S2E42 – Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Steam Deck (So Far)

On this episode of Got Our Attention, we start by discussing the pros and cons of the ‘terrible-twos’ and the funny things that kids say (even at the risk of losing half our audience). Turns out, toddlers are pretty hysterical and make for some really funny stories.

In Kelly’s Korner, we learn that a Nebraska State Senator needs to do some research on furries and technology advancements are giving the completely paralyzed the ability to create sentences and request specific foods and beer.

                              • Sony’s got a new subscription plan and it looks like it might cost you more than the one you already have.

                              • Microsoft says it won’t stand in the way of unionizing of Activision Blizzard (AKA: Blizzion Activizard).
                              • And Mike still can’t do a finger countdown.

                                • Intermission:

                                • Mike talks about the commercial that you pay not to hear. Sorry. It won’t happen again.

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Mike and Bruno are on assignment so Brian and Kelly hold down the fort. We learn that Kelly knows absolutely nothing about Harry Potter, shocking Brian and the audience in chat. Brian is kind enough to educate her, but we suspect Mike will be organizing a Harry Potter intervention for her soon. Brian also gives us the history behind the two-fingered/European version of ‘the bird’ which is fascinating! We also find out how great Brian is at blowing eggs.

In Kelly’s Korner, we hear about a hiker from Brooklyn who has to be rescued. From a snowy mountain trail. Twice. In two consecutive days. Will wonders never cease? Also, bless his heart…

On this episode of Got Our Attention, Bruno confuses everyone by using his powers linguistic magic. Wait, are we talking about wheels or spells? Patches is a character and not an update? Please tell me we’re talking about insects and don’t get me started on invaders…

In Kelly’s Korner, the guys deduce that there are in fact more wheels than doors in the world (you’re welcome) and Kelly provides a tragic update about Doug the Spud. Side Note: you should never eat something you’ve named.
