As 2024 comes to a close, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs, through its Environmental Health Division, is intensifying efforts to promote food safety during the festive season. With an increase in festivals and social gatherings during this period, there is a noticeable rise in cases of foodborne illnesses, such as food poisoning and gastroenteritis. The Ministry is taking this opportunity to educate the public on essential precautionary measures to protect themselves and their loved ones from food-related health risks. These efforts align with the Environmental Health Division’s mandate to safeguard public health by ensuring that food prepared, served, and consumed during the festive season meets safety standards.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs extends warm wishes to everyone this holiday season! May your Christmas be filled with joy, love, and cherished moments with family and friends.
As we celebrate, let us also prioritize health and safety:
Enjoy balanced meals and stay hydrated.
Practice food safety when preparing and handling meals.
Drink responsibly and avoid excessive alcohol consumption.
Stay safe on the roads—never drink and drive.
Protect vulnerable loved ones by maintaining good hygiene.
Together, we can make this season not only festive but also safe and healthy for all.
Happy Holidays and best wishes for the New Year!
