On this episode of the GoWinOut Podcast we interview Brandon Mosely, aka Just Bman NoDJ. He is a very talented DJ who has also spent time in music production, creating beats for some of your favorite artists like the Diplomats. He is also a very talented creative in the space of creating remixes and edits for other DJs. Bman also tells us some wonderful stories about how he built his network by partnering with some of the most well known DJs and artists across the world, including DJ Jazzy Jeff and Quest Love.

During this episode we hang out with Juliette @j_jewelzzz. She hails from New Orleans, but has lived in Charlotte for her formative and adult years.  She recently had a new baby and has since quit nightlife. She tells us how life is as a new mom again and gets into some of the reasons why she left the nightlife scene. She also recalls her experience being on the opening team of three different restaurants and explains the stressors that come into play when working in those unique situations.

During this episode we get to know DJ Bloc, a long time veteran DJ of 30 years with roots in Flatbush, Brooklyn. We talk about his time growing up and learning how to DJ under his two older brothers, primarily doing dancehall block parties in Brooklyn. We also talk about his transition to Charlotte upon making a career change and seeking a better place to live for his growing family. He also drops valuable gems and advice for younger DJs who are coming up on the scene. We also take a tour on discussing the elements and nuances of Caribbean music in comparison to other international music genres such as Afrobeats and Amapiano.

In this special episode, Porshe and I come and record an episode after a night out in the city, with a plus one (Kayla) whom she met the day before. On this episode, we have fun talking about nightlife and dating here in Charlotte in comparison to other cities. We also have a little fun role playing and making some jokes. We get to know a little bit about both Porshe and Kayla personally right before the alcohol begins to get the better of them both LOL. 

During episode 14 we sit down with Joseph Isaiah AKA Big Suede, a Charlotte based DJ who hails from Raleigh, NC. Big Suede takes us on a journey in life through the ups and downs, telling us how he eventually landed himself on the pathway to being a Mogul, making imprints in Music, Film and Fashion. 

Big Suede is also promoting his latest music project called "Mafia Music Vol. 1" on all platforms, featuring other up and coming artists from the Carolinas such as Baby Simba.

After tragically losing his mother in early October of 2024, Big Suede has taken a much needed reset in 2025 and is now poised to take over the world with not only music, but also his fashion line by his own name "Joseph Isaiah". For episode 12 I have done my first solo episode with no guest. As the first episode of 2025, this podcast reflects on my experience getting the podcast started up until now. I go through my top 10 reflections and lessons learned from this experience.

For episode 11 I sit down with Tee a.k.a The Energy Goddess, a Carolina Native and veteran of all things regarding nightlife.

Coming off of a turnt-up holiday weekend with the family, we kick-off discussing her formative years with her family in Charlotte and later in rural Mooresboro, NC.  She explains how she was a very active and curious adolescent, often landing herself in trouble and causing her to move around to live with different family members growing up all of which molded her persona and motives today. We talk about her experience in artistic endeavors and sports early on and how that affected her trajectory in life, ultimately prepping her for how to move around in nightlife spaces.

Tee is a self-proclaimed black hippie, so we talk about experiences experimenting with drugs, particularly marijuana. We also talk about black cowboy and rodeo culture and parties, which are popular in North Carolina towns such as Boiling Springs, where you can enjoy some great barbecue and some serious line dancing.

We also talk about the rules, culture and state of nightlife in Charlotte, NC from a workers perspective, particularly how it could be very "clique-ish". Now that she turned 30 she is trying to put some distance between herself and the nightlife scene after having experienced a lot in the streets.

She tells a funny story about how she got into a fight with club security at Imperial this year and ended up injuring her foot, requiring her to wear a boot for a while.

She talks about her time in college Winston-Salem State University where she studies mass communications, with a concentration in Radio, after initially trying to attend Clark Atlanta University. I take time to reflect on a similar story of my own experience with trouble finding funding when I initially got to school but I was able to overcome thanks to a guardian angel I met at school who helped me with some advice. 

She spent some time interning in radio production during school before getting into nightlife. She did most of her initial networking through radio work where she learned to "Keep her ears to the streets but her lips out of it". She also had some light music aspirations, being able to rap on a JetsonMade beat.

Her first foray into nightlife was as a dancer in college before serving as a bottle girl in Greensboro, NC.  She talks about how competitive and intimidating it can be working in the strip club. She talked about how she travelled for work to different states, even going as far as the US Virgin Islands. She also walks us through a typical night on how much money she would make and how it would flow in.  She also comments partnering with other dancers.

She also commented on her experience as a bartender, but more extensively as a hookah girl. We talked about some of the nuances and history around hookah culture and some of her hookah pet peeves.

She talked about some of her favorite cities to turn up in, namely Houston, TX, and shouts out some of the venues that she put in a lot of work with, mainly West End Tavern, Tatooz & Booz and Bliss.

During this episode we get to know DJ Jaylo who is one of the hottest club DJs out here in Charlotte, NC. He starts off by telling us how he got started DJing by practicing underneath his uncle and cousins on vinyl records and turntables in 2019 after getting laid off as a mechanic. He is from Greensboro and lived in Fayetteville before moving to Charlotte where he was inspired to DJ after seeing a celebrity DJ perform live for DaBaby.

Jaylo also has built his foundation in music and rhythm through his time on the drumlin in the marching band during his high school years. We talk briefly about his starting set-up, using a Hercules controller with Virtual DJ and eventually switching to Serato after getting some feedback from other DJs in the community.

One of the first things Jaylo focused on improving when starting his DJ career was making sure he gets booked in the club frequently every week and he emphasizes the importance of relationship. He goes even deeper on this topic and talks about how he has been "back doored" and betrayed by other DJs, promoters and venue owners in the city. His lesson for the podcast from this situation is for DJs to establish solid relationships with their promoters and for the promoters to trust their DJs.

We shout out some of the promoters and DJs that he works along with in the New Carolina DJ group based here in Charlotte, NC and some of the specific ones who have mentored him over the years.

We talked about the evolution of his identity as a DJ through name changes over the year, eventually landing on Jaylo, with the popular tagline being "We Love You Jaylo" and the meaning behind each of our DJ names.

We also talk about DJ rates here in the city and how it all depends on the venue. We also talked about his journey to better hosting as a natural introvert as a result of DJing for celebrities at concerts, including artists like Key Glock, BigXthePlug and Bossman DLow.

Adrian Nyce is the host of The Mouthin Out Podcast which interviews music artists as well as other celebrities and influencers. 

During this podcast we get to know Adrian and how he started his podcast. Being that he is an experienced podcast  and content producer, he goes over some of the important lessons and tips he has learned over doing thousands of interviews and curated content pieces. 

He tells us about his roots in content making through studying film in art school in Charlotte,  NC. He also is an affiliate streamer with both the Kick Twitch streaming platforms.

Adrian is also inspired by endurance challenges turns them into content. He tells us about his documentary that he filmed while running across America from coast to coast over a three month period. He became an avid runner from his time running track and cross country in school. He also does twenty four hour live streams. 

He also shares some of his experience working for a hospitality company which promoted nightclubs in the Los Angeles area.
