“For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.” Jesus teaches us to treasure not the earthly possessions or prestige that will fade, but the love of God. Centered in Christ, our heart will rely on that which will last us for eternity.

Our world is full of judgements. We pass judgements on others' lives as well as our own. Jesus is also used to judge, just as he was in our Gospel reading. However, the true judgment of Jesus comes with his sacrifice to save us all through grace.

When we come to God in prayer, we are often searching; whether that is searching for answers, comfort, or healing. Jesus meets us in our searching and offers us a place to start. This is what he provides for the disciples in the Lord’s prayer: a centering way to approach God.

When Jesus calls us to bring God’s kingdom near, all of creation is included. This is because being in relationship with God means connection with each other and every creature on the planet. When we work toward this call together, we can bring peace on earth.
