Our text in Revelation 6:12-17 sums up with the sixth seal of terrible judgments upon a Christ-rejecting world and gives the Great Tribulation an astounding, thought provoking name “the wrath of the Lamb.” This term is astounding because the Lamb came as our gentle, loving Savior of grace, and now we see His “wrath.” This is thought-provoking because the term “wrath of the Lamb” drives us to examine the Scriptures more deeply so we understand our God better and in fullness. God grant us His wisdom to understand, tremble, and worship Him more, in spirit and in truth.

Revelation Chapters 6 through 19 are the contents of the “seven sealed book” in the Father’s right hand which the Lamb takes from His holy hand. Remember, the book of Revelation is “The Blessing Book” (See verse 1:3) because this blessed book of prophecy came directly from the heart and hand of Almighty God! The seven sealed book is “the title deed to the earth” and is the content at Revelation chapters 6 through 19.

Revelation 6-19 is a record of events which will occur after the rapture of the Church and are the unfolding of the last seven years of Old Testament history, the “seventieth week” of Gabriel’s prophetic message to Israel recorded in Daniel 9:27. At the Rapture, the New Testament “Age of Grace” is completed, and the last seven years of the Old Testament history begins! These chapters culminate in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in Revelation 19:11-16. Amen. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

As we continue in chapter 5 of Revelation, the great worship service in Heaven with all of God’s people and the holy angels present now moves to a dramatic moment. The Lion of the tribe of Judah appears out of God’s Throne to conclude all human history and to usher in the eternal Kingdom of God on a redeemed earth saved by the Lamb of God and His Gospel.
