Have you ever been in a situation in life where people around you are examining your every word and your every move in an attempt to try to find something to use against you? That’s what Jesus experienced throughout His 3.5-year ministry, reaching a climax during the last week of His life.

It’s only when you’re really hurting that you can fully appreciate the words of Hebrews 4:15-16, which say, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find help in time of need.” Jesus understands. Jesus wept. We look at that event in our text this morning in Luke chapter 19.

Jesus was in control of His own death and its timing. In this passage, we see Him setting things into motion to move toward His crucifixion.

Life on planet Earth can be very difficult at times. Paradise was lost in Genesis chapter 3 but paradise will one day be restored!
