It’s so important to remember that God does not traverse through time like we do. In God’s mind, before the world was ever created, the cross had already happened. There was never a time where you were not chosen because there was never a time where God was waiting to see what choice you would make regarding him. He’s always known and therefore has always predestined your eternal home; your salvation and your ultimate glorification. He’s always known you, predestined you, called you, justified and glorified you. So what does this mean to us as we live in this world? It means that God has purpose in our life. It’s not some random set of events. He will cause all things, even painful things, to work for your good because He has put in place your destiny. He knows what He is doing.

The story of resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a story. It is sometthing that we experience.So how does this wonderful gospel change a person’s life so they’re not drifting from one event to another looking for happiness? What are the benefits of knowing Jesus has forgiven you and brought you into His family? This is the main question the Apostle Paul is answering now that we we got to the last part of Romans, chapter 8.

Jesus is Victor. Glory is coming. The Holy Spirit is interceding for God’s will in our lives. God is always working in the midst of all things to bring about eternal goodness. What situation troubles you today; is there a source of fear in your life? Do you feel helpless in some situations and it causes you to be anxious? The Holy Spirit knows all things and how to bring God’s will into our lives. He’s not worried or anxious about our situations. He is not upset or fearful about the future.

Can you imagine having perfect parents? They would always be giving you everything you need, so you know you are always accepted, always loved, always supported, always secure. They’re just perfect. Never a mistake. Contrary to what some may think, none of us have grown up with perfect parents. Yet, as we get into the middle of chapter 8 of Romans, the Scripture turns to family; our spiritual family. It puts this whole spiritual experience in the context of family with God as the perfect parent. He is our Father, we are His children. You may be 127 years old, but in God’s eyes, you are still his child.

The Holy Spirit is the only way to live each moment of every day. The Spirit is the actual life of Jesus living in and through you. We are not called to try and be like Jesus. We are called to surrender our inadequate flesh efforts to the resurrected life of Jesus living in us.

So the opening statement of Romans 8 is something that can change your life if you will accept it as true and believe it. Romans 8:1- Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Talk about a revolutionary concept – there is absolutely no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. None. Never. So what does that mean?

As believers, not only are we free from the bondage of sin, we are free from the whole system of getting our value from how we perform morally. We now live in a relationship with God through His Spirit. Our behavior is under His jurisdiction and we simply receive His power, His righteousness and His glory. There are no more behavioral demands placed on us. There are no more standards to live up to. That’s the old system of the law. The law, or living by standards and rules, was meant to simply reveal to us that we aren’t righteous. Our flesh is simply not capable, try as it may, to be good. Our failure then is to bring us to the point of complete faith in Christ every moment of every day.

The Victorious Gospel.Victory – are you living a victorious Christian life? This is a life full of the Joy of the Lord, bearing spiritual fruit all along the journey of life. This victory is founded only in what Christ has done and we have been brought in by His precious blood and empty tomb. He is our victory.
