God is looking for worshippers. But what does it mean to be true worshippers of Christ. Pastor Chris explains what worshipping in SPIRIT and in TRUTH means. But more importantly, he reminds us that when we approach God we should seek the supernatural instead of the spectacular.

Psalm 27:4 One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.The first thing you notice from this verse is that it says One thing I will seek and then it breaks this one thing down into three parts: SEEK, DWELL AND MEDITATE. What does it mean to do this "One" thing?

Pastor Chris takes us back to an all time favorite old Sunday School song that we used to all sing with gusto. Then he asked the hard question, How does this song apply to us now that we are adults? It’s hard to be in the midst of the very glory of God and want our own way or think we’re something special or think we have everything figured out. God’s Glory Reveals RealityThe more you live in God’s miraculous glory, the more you understand things. You’re constantly aware of His greatness and superintendence over all things. Your faith grows because you rest in His care. You’re able to trust those you love to His care because of His glory and power.

God chose the little insignificant town of Bethlehem for the King of Kings to be born. He chose a time that would have that little town so full there would be no place except for the humble stall to be available. He chose peasant teenagers from Nazareth to parent the Lord of Lords. He had not come to revamp the world’s system. He came to offer a whole new life; a whole new way. He didn’t come to improve us. He came to change us. Bethlehem is a symbol of how God does things.

We often say that Christ died to set us free. Scripture often talks about the freedom Christians have. What does that mean? Most people when they hear the word freedom think that there are no restrictions whatsoever and I am free to do what I want. Is that freedom?

Grace is so incredible that it has removed completely the whole sin system. Jesus saves us declaring us innocent of sin and ushers us into a beautiful love relationship with himself. Sure – sometimes our behavior falls short, but that’s not what this is about anymore. Grace has freed us from score keeping, but that doesn’t mean we have a license to sin. If a person becomes a Christian and learns about the total pardon of grace and thinks that means he can sin all he wants, in what system is he thinking – law or grace? He’s thinking in the law system because it’s still about what he can do, what he can get away with rather than who he loves and who loves him.We will always be slaves to something.We Are All Slaves All the Time. Are you a slave to sin or a slave to righteousness?

We need to understand and believe what has happened in us in order to know what Jesus has for us. It would be wrong to think that being dead to sin means we are never tempted or affected by temptation. In fact, our enemy will probably turn up the heat on the temptations if we are Christian. Our new life is hidden in the life of Jesus. We constantly remember that he is our life, our source, our power. We accept His truth about this new life.NOTE: This sermon includes personal testimony of one of our church member.

Coming to Christ is saying goodbye to the former. It is an exit. It is passing from one existence to another. It is a death and resurrection.

Grace rules and reigns over sin and death. Grace forgives sins through the cross. Grace brings the very righteousness of God into our lives. Grace is the gift of eternal life. Grace satisfies the thirsty soul. It fills the hungry with the goodness of God. Grace pursues us even when we are resistant because it is determined to complete in us what it has begun. And one day grace will destroy all death and consummate the kingdom. Grace reigns. That’s why the very throne of God is referred to as the throne of grace. Death will be swallowed up in the victory of grace.This is what victorious and abundant grace is! An it's available to us through Jesus Christ.
