Pastor Dave begins a new sermon series from the Book of Romans. He introduced the Gospel by way of its writer, the apostle Paul. What is the Gospel according to Romans 1:1-7? 1) The gospel is what Paul’s whole life is about. (2)The gospel is what the whole bible is about. (3)The gospel is all about what Jesus has done. (4) The gospel produces obedience through faith.In light of these truths, who is Jesus to you?

Pastor Dave teaches on one of the famous Scriptures on prayer found in 2 Chronicles 7:14.This past week we finished our 40 days of prayer but we have not finished praying. One of the core values we hold at GBC is prayer. We have this firm belief that God knows best for our lives, for our church and for this community. Prayer is how we connect with what He is doing and participate in His great plan.

Ponder this question: Do you pray God’s will or your will most often?Ponder this TRUTH: Living and praying in God’s will brings His divine work into our lives. God’s will is perfect. The word perfect means whole and complete, lacking nothing. Living in God’s will leaves no room for your will is what that means. The good thing is that God’s will is always good.

What does praying in faith means? In a nutshell, praying in faith is agreeing with God.Watchman Nee, describes it this way-“Prayer is the union of the believer’s thought with the will of God. The prayer which a believer utters on earth is but the voicing of the Lord’s will in heaven. Prayer is not the expressing of our wish for God to yield to our petition and fill up our selfish desire. It is not a forcing of the Lord to change His will and perform what he is unwilling to do. No, prayer is simply speaking out the will of God through the mouth of the believer. Before God, the believer asks in prayer for the Lord’s will to be done.”

What if we as a church family really believed that the Holy Spirit knew better how to pray than we did. What if we start asking for His lead on everything? What if we stop flesh praying and instead of our lives making a declaration of independence, we declare that we are dependent on Him for everything. What will happen if we start praying in the Spirit?

Prayer should be our response to every situation. We shouldn't think of anything else because we know where the power is.But what does a powerful prayer looks or sounds like ? Acts 4:24–31 gives us a model of a powerful prayer.

Who needs to be delivered? Do you need deliverance today? Pastor Dave teaches about deliverance from Psalm 34. Deliverance begins with Praising the Deliverer.Deliverance is Leaving the Slum.Deliverance only comes to the brokenhearted.

Pastor Dave called the church to commit to 40 days of praying. He challenged the church to ponder these questions -What would happen if we really prayed to God about everything? What would happen if a spirit of desperate prayer caught fire in this church? What would happen to this church, to this community? “It is Finished.” Some think that means that his mission has been completed and now people can have their sins forgiven and restored in their relationship to the Father and get to go to heaven when they die. It does mean all those things, but it means more than that.

Because of what Jesus did, we can be free. We can come to Him and give him our pain and He will bear it on the cross. We can come to Him with our sinfulness and He will bear it on the cross. Healing comes from the cross.
