This study considers the repeated statement in Romans 1 that “God gave them over.” The passage shows the serious consequences of rejecting God, while also reminding believers to respond with truth, humility, love, and a desire to reach the lost.

This passage from James calls the suffering believer to respond with prayer, humility, and dependence on the Lord. James does not separate physical suffering from spiritual care; instead, he directs the sick to seek the prayers of mature leaders in the church, reminding us that God is concerned with both the body and the soul.

This lesson examines the sobering warning of Romans 1:24–25: when people reject the revealed truth of God, they do not gain true freedom; rather, they become enslaved to the corrupted desires of the heart. Scripture shows that God has made Himself known, yet rebellion exchanges His truth for a lie, resulting in dishonor, impurity, and idolatry. The purpose of this study is to call the reader to recognize the danger of rejecting God’s authority and to turn instead to Christ, who offers rest, restoration, and life.

Scripture teaches that only God is righteous, that man’s heart is weak and deceitful, and that the only safe place for the believer is near the Lord, walking in His light.
