Suffering unjustly for following Jesus is tough. But we must remember it was tough for Jesus too. The difference, however, is that Jesus triumphed through suffering. This means we can also face unjust suffering graciously, knowing that Jesus' victory is a victory for us too.

Christians are those who submit, because we follow the example of a Saviour who submitted himself in order to save us. This is as true in marriages, as it is in the workplace or the public square.

Peter calls Christians, as God's 'chosen exiles,' to live such 'honourable' lives among the nations that though some may speak evil of us today, they will see our 'good deeds' and glorify Jesus on the day of His visitation.

Part of recognising who we are in Christ is recognising the shape of God's dwelling with his people through the whole story of Scripture.
