In the letter to the ‘diaspora’ church Peter writes ...the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God... (1 Pt 4:17a kjv).

And the Lord Jesus expresses such judgement in today’s text as He speaks to the seriousness, the importance, & the priority He places upon that which His Father designed & created for His own glory… His house

Happy Mother's Day... we celebrate the blessing of mum's today, as we look at the relationship between the Lord Jesus & Mary.

This is the continuation of last weeks sermon where God encounters Jacob in this position of desperation.

The context within which this passage is found is Jacob being placed into a position of need, more accurately… a position of desperation. BUT it is a position of desperation that he placed himself in, by his own selfish choices.

Thus, God ENCOUNTER's Jacob in that place of desperation and does the amazing in his life.

Leading into our Easter Camp for 2023 - over the next few weeks we are going to be looking at the God who ENCOUNTER's us.

The God who initiates, the God who reaches out, the God who comforts us as His children - and one of the greatest examples of this comfort is revealed in His comforting of Elijah (1 Kings 19).

I pray that there will be a word for you today, so that you might meet with the God who meets with us; see the God who calls us to Himself; and respond to the God who guides & instructs us so clearly!!
