Our culture has a low view of the bible and how useful it is. What does the bible say about how it can impact and help us in our everyday lives today?

The heart of the gospel is the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is alive! Furthermore, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is actively working in every person who believes in Jesus.

The Church has a purpose. That purpose is to tell the world about Jesus. The mission flows out of prayer and relationship with God and we are motivated in it by the grace that God has shown to us.

The big task that Jesus left his church to get on with was to make followers of Jesus. The key to making this priority a reality is to first understand what God has done for us as a gift of his grace.

Grace Church is one family together. Jesus unites us together as the head of the family. We put our roots into him as an oak tree puts its deep roots into the ground. And the more united we are, the more deeper our roots go down into Jesus.

Paul could write to the Colossians as he did because they were a church who truly understood God’s grace. He put their focus on Jesus and took time to lose himself in worship even as he was writing his letter! Worship is central to everything that Grace Church does. To ensure that our worship is similarly founded on grace, we must return continually to the person and work of Jesus.

Paul longed to be able to meet the Colossian church in person, but even when separated physically he felt together with them in spirit. It is more important than ever that we learn to imitate that kind of togetherness and understand that what joins us is much stronger than what keeps us apart.

God is all knowing and therefore knows everything about us including our thoughts and motivations, this can lead us to be fearful of God but Thomas explains how it can actually be a great comfort because of what Jesus has done.
