Everything that exists does and will change - except God. God alone is unchangeable, and because of this his children can have great confidence as they live for him.

As humans we strive for independence and self-sufficiency, but we were not created that way. God is self-sufficient and that is really good news for us.

Our God has always existed. God the uncreated one created us. Understanding that we were made for his glory, and not ours, frees us to enjoy the way he has made us and use our unique creative gifts.

Our God cannot be measured, contained or compared. In that respect he is very different from us. However, when we grasp this truth it releases us into freedom, fullness and faith.

There is a spiritual hunger in all of us for something more than this world can offer. Just like our physical hunger, our spiritual hunger is a good thing when applied in the right way. What does that look like?

It feels like we are entering a new season for our nation, for our church, and possibility in our individual lives too. How can we prepare in the best way for changing times ahead?

Elijah did and saw some truly extraordinary things and yet he really was just like us. Here, we see him totally exhausted and in the depths of depression. And we see that God is gracious to him in exactly the way Elijah needed God to be, just as God is with us when the darkness descends.

Elijah prayed for rain and the rain came. That’s powerful, effective prayer! But James says that Elijah was just a normal person like us. We can have confidence that our prayers are no less powerful and no less effective.

When God told Jeremiah to invest in property during an invasion, it looked like a crazy thing to do. But investing in faith and obedience to God’s call is always the smartest thing we can do.

Revivals have happened multiple times throughout the history of the church. Is there any reason that today, we as God’s people, should not be believing God to see it in our own time?
