This Sunday we’re pressing pause on Ephesians to launch into something I believe could shape the future of our church, The Vision Series: Made To Multiply.
The truth is, without vision, we drift. But when God gives us a vision: a picture in our head and a fire in our heart, we are motivated and focused and come alive. Vision lifts our eyes from what is to what could be, and it pulls us into the grand story God is writing.
I believe God’s vision for Grace is bigger than any one of us. It’s about multiplying disciples, raising up leaders, and seeing San Diego transformed by Jesus. And this Sunday we’re going to press into what that means for you. I am praying that over next few weeks we come to see multiplication isn’t just a strategy, it’s God’s heartbeat for His people. May we consider: What would it mean for our church to fully step into God’s vision, to multiply disciples, leaders, missionaries, and churches? 

Hi Grace Church!This Sunday, we will continue our study of God’s word in Ephesians 5:8-20. Paul provides an important reminder of who we used to be and who we are now: “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”Our old identity was marked by selfishness, sin, and stumbling in the dark. But because of Jesus, that’s not who we are anymore. As believers, we are to live as children of light and walk in self-control rather than being controlled by our impulses. Walking as children of light also requires that we expose the hidden sin in our lives rather than hiding it in shame. If you’ve ever felt stuck, weighed down, or like you’re hiding in the shadows, this week is for you. Jesus doesn’t expose sin to shame us; He exposes it to heal us. He invites us to step into the light and to shine in a world desperate for hope.

Hello Grace Church. Hope you are well! This Sunday we continue our journey through Ephesians in 5:1–7. Paul gives us a simple but stunning call: “Be imitators of God… and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us.” The Christian life isn’t behavior management—it’s family resemblance. Because we are God’s beloved children, we learn to look like our Father. Paul gets practical and pastoral: “not even a hint” of sexual immorality, impurity, or sensual greed (which he calls idolatry); no crude joking or careless words. Not because God is out to kill joy, but because He’s protecting it. These patterns promise life and deliver emptiness. Jesus offers a better way, the way of self-giving love.Here’s the turn: identity before activity. We don’t try to imitate God to become beloved; we imitate God because we are beloved in Christ. The gospel reorders our loves so our lives can change. We will see this week in the text, what we chase, how we speak, and what we celebrate.

He calls us to “no longer live as the Gentiles do” but to put off the old self and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.This passage gets very practical: truth instead of lies, forgiveness instead of bitterness, generosity instead of greed.

Paul shows us what it looks like when the gospel doesn’t just change what we believe but transforms the way we live—our relationships, our speech, even our hearts. It’s a powerful reminder that the Christian life isn’t just about avoiding sin; it’s about reflecting the character of Jesus in everyday life.

We live in a world that celebrates strength; fitness goals, achievements, promotions, and appearances. But have you ever wondered why some people who look strong on the outside crumble when life gets hard, while others, who seem unimpressive by the world’s standards, carry an unshakable peace?This Sunday at Grace, we’ll look at Ephesians 3:14–21, where Paul prays for believers to be “strengthened with power through the Spirit in your inner being.” Outward strength fades, but inward strength, rooted in Christ’s love, endures and sustains us through every trial.Join us as we explore what it means to be strengthened in the inner man, how God grows resilience in us from the inside out, and how His love equips us to display His glory in the world.We hope you’ll be there as we worship, pray, and ask God to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” in our lives and in our church.

This weekend we continue our journey through Ephesians as we look at chapter 3:1–13. Paul pauses his letter to reflect on one of the greatest surprises in all of history—the mystery of Christ. What was once hidden is now revealed: that through Jesus, Jews and Gentiles are brought together as one family, one people, one body.Even more, Paul says that God is showing off His wisdom—not just to the world, but even to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms—through the church. That means us. Grace Church is part of God’s eternal plan to display His glory and wisdom in ways we can hardly imagine.It’s a powerful reminder of who we are in Christ, why the church matters, and how we can approach God with confidence and freedom. I’m excited to gather with you and to see how the Spirit encourages us through His Word.

Hello Grace Church hope you are well! Last week in Ephesians 2 Paul showed us—in strong terminology—how Christ has brought us from death to life, from lies to truth, and from darkness to light. In short, Christ has healed our hostility with God vertically. We were dead, but God. So good. You could think of last week as Gospel Presentation and this week as Gospel Implication. Paul goes directly from telling them what God has done vertically to what that means for us now horizontally. We’ve been reconciled with God and because of this, we are now reconciled with each other. Jew and Gentile had centuries of hostility, fueled by social separation, mutual contempt, political tension, and cultural practices. But something happened in Christ that turned enemies into one body, and reconciled both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

Hello Grace Church, we hope you are well! Last week in Ephesians 1 we saw Paul pray that we would know God more deeply — that our hearts would be opened to His wisdom, His hope, and His power.This Sunday we move into Ephesians 2:1–10, and Paul takes us back to remember what life was like before Jesus. He doesn’t soften the language — we were spiritually dead, following the ways of the world, and under God’s just wrath. But then come two of the best words in the Bible: “But God…”Because of His great love and rich mercy, He made us alive with Christ. Salvation isn’t something we earned — it’s a gift of grace from beginning to end. And He didn’t just save us from something, He saved us for something — to walk in the good works He prepared in advance for us to do.My prayer is that as we sit with this passage, we’ll be freshly amazed at God’s grace and eager to live in the new life He’s given us.
