Jesus told this parable to show that money is not something to be put at the centre of our lives, but that He is our perfect treasure. Wealth and earthly possessions are nothing compared to knowing Jesus.

Peter concludes his letter with an encouragement and challenge to church leaders as well as a reminder to the whole church to live in humble obedience to God even in the midst of suffering, knowing that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
