Hebrews 3:7-19 // Finding true rest is all about the heart. If we cannot soften our hearts before God, we will not enter into his rest now or in eternity. The good news of the gospel is that in Christ God has softened and is softening our hearts through his warnings, his church, and through simple faith.

Hebrews 3:1-6 // There are many faithful earthly leaders, but only the faithful leadership of Christ can satisfy our longings for a lasting leader of a lasting kingdom. As the one who brings us to God, who rules over his house, and who calls us into his home, Jesus is shown to be greater than Moses, and greater than any leader, as the apostle, intercessor, builder, and son of an eternal heavenly kingdom. We are thus called to consider Jesus and hold tight to our confidence and boasting in him as the sufficient leader over all things in a kingdom that will never end.

Hebrews 2:5-18 // Besides the temptation to "de-deify" Jesus, we also suffer from the tendency to dehumanize him. The humanity of Jesus is amazingly good news because through Jesus, we can be truly human again: fulfilling our greatest purpose, facing our greatest enemy, and throwing off our greatest shame.

Hebrews 2:1-5 // The drift away from the gospel and the glory of Christ is real, and it's consequences are incredibly dangerous. The solution to our tendency to drift is the surety of Christ himself, because Jesus is the very glory of the gospel.

Hebrews 1:5-14 // In contrast to angels or any other spiritual authority we can drum up, the only thing that will spiritually satisfy is to bow before the Son and cling to the Son.

Hebrews 1:1-4 // The book of Hebrews calls us to consider the finality of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus has the final word, the final authority, and the final action in all of time and reality.

Colossians 1:24-29 // The riches of Christ in the gospel enable the church to live out Kingdom-multiplying mission through proclaiming the message of the gospel to all people and suffering for sake of the gospel, and for those who have yet to hear.

2 Samuel 9 // What is Christ-Centered Community? It is a community of mutual need, a community of honor in the gospel, and a community bound together by covenant.

1 Timothy 1:3-7 // In this text, we hear two charges related to Biblical, Historic, Christianity: 1) guard the gospel; 2) guard your love.

Song of Songs 8:1-14 // In the face of time, death, and sin, the love of Jesus Christ is an everlasting love.
