Jonah 1-4 // God’s loving call is greater than the sins of the world, God’s loving mercy is greater than the disobedience of His servants, God’s loving plan is greater than our efforts and ability, and God's loving grace is greater than our anger.

Philemon 1:17-25 // There will be times that our new spiritual family members will let us down. But because of the gospel, we can have supernatural confidence and trust with one another, anticipating genuine love and concern from the church.

Philemon 8-17 // What are the attitudes and actions required to truly welcome and receive one another as Christ has received us? In Philemon 8-16, we get a picture. The relational activity of gospel welcome is 1) Compelling Deference; 2) Emotional Boldness; and 3) Eternal Perspective.

Isaiah 40:1-8 // The resurrection of Jesus is crying out to us: comfort is coming, you can't stop it, and it will have the last say!

Revelation 21:1-22:5 // When we follow Jesus, the King of Peace, out of the wilderness, we anticipate our arrival in the new heavens and earth and the new city Jerusalem—the place where God dwells with man and our faith becomes sight.

Matthew 4:1-11 // All the hurts, pains, needs, and suffering of the wilderness world you feel? Jesus felt it too. Not only that, but he shows us the way out.

Jeremiah 8:18-9:26 // Lament is a part of the Christian experience as we traverse the wilderness of this world. The goal of lament isn’t to dwell on our situation but to draw us close to God as we seek him to answer our prayers.

Exodus 16:1-36 // When we face need in the wilderness of life, we are prone to grumbling, where we forget God's faithful past, distort our true need, place the blame on others, and mistrust God's instructions. But through Christ, God provides by hearing us in our sin, meeting our daily need, teaching us to rest, and holding our future forever.

Genesis 12:1-9 // Before we can get too comfortable in the city of idolatry, God calls us to journey with him into the wilderness to the promise of blessing and home. His call comes from sovereign grace, requires costly faith, and only comes in the promised son Jesus Christ.
