When his parents took him up to the temple at just 40 days old, Jesus was recognized as the Messiah by two older saints. What did Simeon and Anna see in Jesus? And how were they able to see that in the face of a baby?

It's easily the best known and most popular story in the Bible: The Nativity, The Christmas Story. We're so familiar with the details. But how well do we really know the story? How well do we really understand its purpose and place in our lives?

"The Magnificat" details the stunning reversal that Jesus is coming to bring about: the proud, powerful, and prosperous will fall in their self-sufficiency, and the King is going to exalt the humble and the hungry.

If you were going to announce the coming of the Lord and Savior and Messiah into the world, where would you go? Who would you tell? How would you tell them?

If you're God, you go to a nobody in a nothing town in the middle of nowhere.

If the Gospel of Luke is all about Jesus of Nazareth, then why does Luke begin with a story about Zechariah, Elizabeth, and their miracle baby, John?
