Netflix says “Love is Blind,” Culture says “Love is Love,” & “Sex is Love,” others say “Love is FEELINGS”, while others just say that Love is a Lie. There is no other topic out there in the world that is more confused and convoluted than this topic of LOVE. So during this series, we will be defining what true love is, confronting all of the LIES of LOVE that Culture tries to sell us, and looking at what the TRUTH of God’s Word has to say on all things Love and ultimately how that affects our sexuality and relationships. This week we dive into how we can LOVE those who look, believe, and behave differently than us. We also talk about the truth behind why we are BORN the way we are, how we’re not stuck in the skin we’re born in, and what happens when our sexuality, gender, and sin nature collide. This thing of sex has become so prevalent, pervasive, and perverse in our culture now, that I genuinely believe, in fact, I know that we are no longer even utilizing this GIFT of sex in the way it was actually intended to be used - and because of that our world, our culture, our schools, our families, and our souls as a generation is paying the price. Storms are a fact of life, not just for us, but for the people in the Bible as well: Elijah was suicidal. David was depressed. Moses was anxious. Paul was alone in prison… We all face storms, and the most dangerous part of the storms we face are the lies they tell. They tell us “we are all alone,” “God doesn’t care about us,” “this is going to last forever,” etc. Lies. Lies. Lies. But the good news is we don’t have to believe the storm because we can beat the storm. Storms aren’t something to be ESCAPED, but to be EMBRACED. So over the course of these conversations were going to be talking about the main storms we all face, why they exist, and how we can no longer BELIEVE the storm but BEAT the storm. This week we dive headfirst into the storm of SUICIDE. Let’s dive in.
