Human beings are naturally prone to compare themselves with others. If we compare ourselves to
people less fortunate, we become prideful. If we compare ourselves to people who are more fortunate, we feel
shame and anger. Sadly, most of us compare ourselves to people who have more, and this leads to great pain. Even
John the Baptist’s disciples faced this. But their leader, John the Baptist himself, shows us how to bust out of the
comparison trap and find joy in any circumstance.
