The purpose of the law was to reveal sin and reveal our need for a Savior, not to earn God's love or blessings. Jesus fulfilled the law on our behalf, making us righteous through faith alone, independent of works or performance. Grace produces intimacy and a relationship with God rather than guilt and condemnation. God's unconditional love empowers us to live a holy life motivated by love rather than fear of punishment. You cannot do anything to make God love you more, and you cannot do anything to make Him love you less.
