The acts of the leaders of South Africa over the past week have left many feeling disillusioned, fearful and angry. On this Sunday, 9 April, we chose to suspend our series, 'Lighten Up', in order to explore what God has to say to us and through us.

The place: The divided nation of Israel.

Into this God called Isaiah, a young man living in Jerusalem, to speak to the people of Israel.

In a time of violence, he spoke of peace.

In a time of oppression, he spoke of justice.

In a time of judgment, he spoke of grace.

When the darkness gets us down, Isaiah reminds us to lighten up!
