Jesus was not here to be efficient, He was here to be effective. Moses reflected God's glory. This is the real glory of God on display. We are all on a journey with Jesus. Your journey should not be compared to others. Knowing who Jesus is makes what He did meaningful. Jesus expects us to be working while He is away. Jesus gave the disciples power and authority before sending them out. Do you know Jesus and are you sharing Jesus with others and introducing them to Him?

Faith is not immune to influences. Faith is not a blind step in the dark, but it is a walk in a dark world. Faith does not require mastery, but it does require trust in the master.

Traditions can easily become defining principles. It is always easier to dress up the outside rather than evaluating the inside. If your lips say it but your heart isn't in it, then it's not worship. Both sin and worship are acts of the heart.

How do we really find rest in all that life requires? Rest is illusive when life isn't fulfilling. Taking time off can't fix the way we spend our time on. Finding joy in the experience of a relationship with the God of heaven will give your life meaning. We serve a God who can take meaningless tasks and make meaningful moments. Real rest experiences the goodness of God and savors the moment.

Rest is a gift and commandment from God. Real Rest is seeing ourselves as the objects of God's favor, grace, peace, and mercy. Real rest is living at a pace and in a place sustained by Jesus. Have we concerned ourselves with what matters? We can be so worried about the details that we miss the big picture. Following Jesus means choosing Him over our to-do list. Have you spent time beholding God recently? Why do we behold tiny screens with useless details rather than the greatness of our creator and savior? Real Rest is taking time to behold Jesus. See. Reflect. Transform.

Everyone wants to be close to God until He challenges the way they live. Following Jesus means allowing him to set the pace. Jacob had to stop running in order to submit to God. Real Rest is living at a pace and in a place sustained by Jesus.

Fulfilling work leads to real rest. Real Rest is seeing ourselves as the objects of God's favor, grace, peace, and mercy. Notify yourself of the right things, not the wrong things.

Do you ever just sit with Jesus and tell him about everything going on? Sometimes what Jesus requires of us is not doing more but resting more. You don't have to have God figured out for him to use you. You don't have God figured out when he does use you. Don't be so hard-headed that you can't see Jesus when he is right in front of you. If you've got a problem, give Jesus what you've got and let him work. See Jesus for who he is when he does what only he can do. Be with Jesus more. Give Jesus what you've got. See Jesus for who he is.

Jesus will offend you. The best parents, teachers, and coaches don't let you stay the same. Jesus doesn't either. Fight cynicism in your spiritual life. Make God feel welcome in your life. The more we seek God's presence the more his presence will be felt in our lives. Jesus seeks the lost sheep. Jesus lets the wandering sheep wander. If you're a wandering/offended/cynical sheep, you can always come back to the shepherd. Who do you want Jesus to be to you? Ask the shepherd to shepherd you.
