This weeks lie is "I have to see the fruit in order to be faithful". Faithfulness is rewarded and is sacrificial. Faithfulness is not a fulfillment of duty, but an act of worship. the truth is that faithless people won't fully experience the faithfulness of God. Are you being faithful with what God has given to you?

This weeks lie "If I can be good I don't have to do good". Goodness aggressively pursues good for others and will not allow evil to persist in its presence. Doing good is not measured in achievement. Doing good is measured in impact. Here's the truth "I prove what I believe when I do what is good."

This week's lie is that "Kindness is optional based on my circumstances". Kindness isn't always free, but it is always possible. Kindness always creates more kindness. Kindness chooses to make someone's day better. Jesus is the ultimate example of extending kindness. Kindness isn't an accident it is an attitude.

This week's lie is that "If it's not fast enough, it's not good enough". When you act upon impatience you end up broken or burnt. God's timing is rarely quick, but it is always right. Don't fight the battle between God's will and your timing. Align yourself with God's will and allow him to deliver what he promised. Your patience with God is a result of the time you've spent with him.

This weeks lie is in order for life to be under control, I need to be in control. God told us the truth. But we don't believe he is big enough distrust in God leaves you wandering instead of discovering. What consumes you more, your anxious thoughts or your trust in Jesus?

This week's lie is that lasting joy comes when my actions & circumstances produce my desires. The joy we find in this world, though real, is only temporary. We take fleeting things, and we try to make them give us lasting happiness. Temporary things can only give temporary joy. Some of the ramifications of trying to force temporary things to give us lasting joy. The truth is lasting joy comes from the eternal hope found in our relationship with God. What fleeting things are you asking to give you lasting joy? What’s stopping you from holding onto the buoy of hope found in God? How can you let your joy be a blessing to others?

The soundtrack plays a huge role in how we understand the story. Throughout the summer series we will examine lies and compare them to biblical truths. This week's lie is that "Love must be earned to be returned". You can't measure love on a scoreboard keeping score creates a winner and a loser. The most awe-inspiring love is given even when we don't deserve it.

The truth you believe in your heart will produce the fruit you see in your life. At the root of every sin is a lie. Choosing to believe God is lying to you is choosing to believe Satan is telling the truth. The treasure of words in your heart will fund your decisions, actions, and habits. The soundtracks we allow to play in our heart will change the way we live.

The need for something new is one of our greatest fears. Leaving what is comfortable is scary. When we hold on to what is comfortable... we justify preference as righteousness. God calls us to act in faith and not fear.

If following Jesus hasn't cost you anything, you're probably doing it wrong. Only when I see myself through Jesus' eyes can I truly understand who I am. Faith over fear means giving up your version of the Kingdom for His.
