Don't be surprised when a broken world feels like a broken world. Our recognition of what is broken points to our knowledge of what it means to be whole. Suffering is promised to those of us who follow Jesus. Suffering will create a deeper partnership or a greater disconnect. If living for Jesus brings ridicule, it will also bring blessing. God is closer to you in your suffering than he appears. The promises of God sustain us in our suffering. What is God teaching you in your suffering?

Don't be a Jesus follower who lacks a Jesus attitude. Only when you are willing to suffer for what you really want will you give up what is holding you back. No one on this earth passes a final judgment on you. Jesus' blood is the ultimate statement about who you are. The good news is life for all who believe it, but it comes at a great price. We didn't have to pay for it, but we are called to live under its weight and worth. What is one way you need to battle sin?

Correction is a sign of love when it comes from a knowledgeable person should always be welcomed. Only a fool wants to continue in the wrong direction when correct directions are available to them. God loves you enough not to give us what we want when we want it, but he will give us what we need when we need it. Discipline is a consistent commitment to difficult actions for a desired outcome. Money is a spiritual issue. We want to be wise with our money, but we can make really unwise decisions with our money. God rewards those who are faithful to him. Biblical wisdom looks for ways to invest in the kingdom, not to supply its own security. Honoring God with your life comes before honoring God with your bank account.

You will not pursue self-control until you recognize the need for self-control. Self-control is a spiritual issue. When you decide to follow Jesus you have decided to wage war within yourself. The results of following our sinful nature are regulated in every culture. When I surrender to the Holy Spirit I produce fruit that has no need for reduction or regulation.

Do we naturally choose what is right? What do I choose when my wisdom and God's wisdom clash? Wisdom based only on my perspective by definition is not wisdom. Who has the right to humble me? When I follow my gut, does my gut follow God? Who should I invite to my humility committee.

We often think more about physical integrity than personal integrity. Integrity and honesty go hand in hand. Why is the temptation so strong to be dishonest? We can be dishonest because we want the approval of people more than the approval of God. When we are dishonest we take on the character of God's enemy.

Integrity either appreciates or deteriorates. We are not called to the lowest acceptable form of honesty. We are called to the highest level of integrity.

Laziness is a spiritual issue, but it doesn't always look like laziness. Working hard in the wrong direction will get you somewhere but not where you wanted to be. The answer is not to become a workaholic, it is to be diligent in all things. A true follower of Jesus is diligent to finish the work Jesus has given them to do. In what areas do I need to eliminate laziness? In what areas do I need to be more diligent?

Our relationships are only as good as your last conversation. Our words have the power to strengthen or shatter. It is easy to throw words away like they have no value. Some of us know how to crush people with our words. We need to own it when we are unwise with our words. As followers of Jesus our words are to reach people not just teach people. How can I use my words to give life, healing, and health to others this week?
