Sin is always first and foremost against God. Our sin might be personal, but its effects are always communal. Sin has consequences! God takes sin seriously!

In the midst of persecution the early church recognizes the sovereignty of God. The events of our lives don't have to be good for God to be good. We wonder why we don't see God do miraculous things while filling every ounce of our lives with comfort. God does the miraculous when we choose discomfort to show our dependence. The early church shared an identity in Christ. The early church shared a relational connection with one another. The early church shared their resources so no one was in need. Sharing is uncomfortable but displays a dependence on God and his provision. How do we need to learn to share?

When God shows up, get yourself out of the way and put Jesus in the way. What the disciples believed about Jesus can never be disputed. We exist to establish every person on the foundation of Jesus. Lives are changed in the name of Jesus. Look for opportunities to bring Jesus into your everyday conversations. Pray for Jesus to use this unique season in your life and in the lives of those around you.

Sometimes God doesn't give us what we ask for... and that's a good thing. We get so used to being blessed we forget the one who blessed us. When we repent we turn from sin and point our feet in a direction to run. What are the blessings you take for granted that should bring joy to your life today?

Women are sometimes seen as subjugated in Christianity. God created men and women uniquely with purpose and equality. Jesus elevated women in a culture that saw them as less than. Jesus invests in women when the culture said they weren't worth the time. Women were responsible for sustaining the ministry of Jesus. Women were the first witnesses of the resurrection. God created men and women to be both equal and opposite. Jesus loves, honors, and values women. We are to love, honor, and value the gift of women in our lives.

Life is a battle. Whether that battle is simply physical or also spiritual is the question. If we are followers of Jesus we are called to take part in the battle. If we aren't against the devil we are aligned with him or used by him. The god of this world plans to use any means necessary to take as many people with him as he can. How do we know who or what to fight?

How do we know the Holy Spirit is God? What does the Holy Spirit do? The Spirit teaches us, sanctifies us, prays for us and seals us for Heaven. The Holy Spirit is evidence of our adoption as God's children. The Holy Spirit gives us confidence to engage in spiritual warfare. Where do you find your confidence?
